Terminus has closed and now into rehearsals for The Penelopiad from Nightwood Theatre, remounting at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre from Jan 10- Feb 10.

In the meantime, I'm quite proud to have been a part of National Post's list of the 2,102 best things of 2012, numbers 150 and 155. In their Top Ten Theatre Productions of the year, they've counted Proud and Terminus. Hourah!

This photo popped up on the TAPA website not long ago, from the Dora Awards night in Toronto earlier in the summer (where I was nominated for performance awards for The Happy Woman and The Penelopiad and Alan's production of Crash was nominated for 6 awards, winning 4!). Recently I had the pleasure of watching Monica Dottor and Ryan Hollyman star in the film The Shape of Rex. They, along with Aviva Armour Ostroff, are simply gorgeous in it.

That was then, this is now, and soon...

Hello world.

I recently closed a SummerWorks Festival production of Mark O'Rowe's play Terminus with the fabulous company Outside the March
I hope to have news about a remount soon, since we sold out our six performances.

In the meantime, I am delighted to be in rehearsals for Michael Healey's production of his play PROUD, about which I will post more later....(hmmmm..backwards grammar, that.)

And in the meantime of THAT, I'll be doing a one-night only reading of a wonderful play with wonderful people for a wonderful cause. Cheap, meaningful, awesome art. One night only. Come on down!

There is much happening in the world right now. But if you happen to be out and wondering about the city, drop by 401 Richmond, to Gallery YYZ for Libby Hague's splendid sculpture exhibit. I'll be performing a love letter to a lost little one at about 1ish, 1:40ish and 2:20ish. Drop in for a bit of art and stimulation!!

Thanks to Alison Broverman and The Toronto Star for this fabulous preview article about The Edward Bond Festival, which started today!

Maev Beaty and Alan Dilworth organize Edward Bond Festival

We're thrilled by the response from the community. Today's Ian Watson workshop has been going wonderfully and tonight is the first performance of The Bundle at Ryerson University.
We've reached our 'hard cost' fundraising goal. Every dollar raised from now on goes directly to the over 60 theatre artists who've donated their time to the festival!
Donate here to help us thank them for their work!

So the artistic team of The Happy Woman moves into the Berkeley Street Theatre today. I always love this day: seeing the set in space, starting to mark out the home that will be the dressing room for the next few weeks, finding out all the good coffee and treats in the neighbourhood, not having to be anywhere before noon, moving into the dark familiar comfort of a theatre.

Here's a wee interview with to whet your appetite for the show! Come see - fantastic cast, a story full of charm, fun, profound questions, complex beautiful questions and relationship and absurd dark humour! We start previews March 5th and run until the 24th.

Pretty well every third thought I have is devoted to food: cravings, desires, memories and imaginings, of dishes, menus, a texture, a flavour, a scent. I had the pleasure of putting one of these memories, a meal at Aravind Restaurant on the Danforth, into words and pictures for the restaurant blog Tales From the Bib. You can read, and hopefully salivate, here. Good reading, good eating, and go eat there!
